UMSL’s International Business Program receives

sixth consecutive top 20 ranking by U.S. News

The International Business Program at the University of Missouri-St. Louis was ranked among the top 20 best undergraduate international business programs for the sixth consecutive year by U.S. News & World Report. The program was ranked 16 in the magazine’s 2009 listings. UMSL’s program is the only International Business program in Missouri that received a ranking. Allan Bird, director of the International Business Program at UMSL, said it’s an honor for the young program to receive the ongoing recognition. "We are pleased, once again, that our peers place us among the top 20 undergraduate international business programs in the country,” Bird said. “Six consecutive years is a strong run. It reflects their recognition of the high quality of our programs, faculty and students. We appreciate the strong support of the College of Business Administration and UMSL.” Keith Womer, dean of the College of Business Administration, said the International Business program at UMSL is a young program that has grown by laps and bounds, with dedicated individuals focused on making it the best. “UMSL’s College of Business Administration strives each year to build upon the nationally ranked program,” Womer said.”We continue to attract and retain high quality students and faculty. As part of our ongoing mission, we are constantly looking at ways to better our program.”

UMSL’s International Business Program began in 1999 as a collaboration between the College of Business Administration and Pierre Laclede Honors College at UMSL.

As a component of the top-ranking program, UMSL launched the International Master’s of Business Administration program in 2005. The International MBA program created partnerships with international universities in China, Japan, India, France, Mexico and Austria. Students enrolled in the two-year graduate program spend the first year studying abroad, followed by a summer internship, and then return to UMSL in the fall for a year.
